By: Saige Wilde “Don’t fret if the adjustment to your new life has been tough. Remember, it takes a while for a butterfly’s wings to dry.” (Red Butterfly, pg 378)The WWU Adoptees Alliance was fortunate enough to have A.L. Sonnichsen, the author of Red Butterfly, visit our club on October 16, 2018. Sonnichsen is the mother of five children and spent many years living in China as an adult, where she adopted one of her children from, and grew up living in Hong Kong. She spoke to our club about her experience living in China and going through the adoption process. Afterwards, we interviewed her about the book-writing process.
